Martin Tobin

Martin and his wife Loretta have been married for 23 years and have four children, Ella, Marcus, Louis and Lucia.

As the Assistant Director – Catholic Identity and Evangelisation with Catholic Education Tasmania (CET), Martin leads the Religious Education and Formation Teams of the CET and work closely with Catholic Schools and the Archdiocese of Hobart (AoH) in the area of Catholic identity and youth evangelisation.

Immediately prior to this, Martin was employed at Nagle Catholic College, Geraldton Western Australia as the Deputy Principal for Faith & Life. He undertook a range of teaching and learning and pastoral care leadership roles in Catholic Schools in Western Australia since graduating from the University of Western Australia in 1989 as a Health and Physical Education teacher.

Martin has taught Religious Education for the duration of his 26 years in secondary Catholic Schools and had extensive experience teaching Religious Education with senior secondary students. This has included the presentation of the Catholic Church’s teaching on marriage, sexuality and life issues.

In addition, he has worked extensively in schools within the area of Campus Ministry and student and staff Christian formation, and evangelisation.

In 1999, Martin and his father, Daniel Tobin, co-founded the Fulton J. Sheen Society Inc. that endeavours to introduce the works, life and example of Most Venerable Fulton J. Sheen to new audiences.
