Inspired by the positive psychology movement, Happiness Central is the website resource for two ABC programs: Making Australia Happy, and, Making Couples Happy (read review: here)
The site includes two “Happiness Tests” – one measuring individual happiness, and the other relationship happiness. Data from the tests is collected and analysed and visitors can visit the “Happiness Pulse” page for data aggregates. For example, when I visited, 53/100 was the average relationship happiness, Spain was the happiest country with just over 10,000 registered users. Teh next day, Afghanistan was the happiest country….mmmm – there might be a sampling error coming into play there.
The site also offers a blog, articles explain the science used in the TV program, and links to some apps (will report on these next edition).
It’s an interesting site, easy to navigate and in combination with the TV show, a positive force for helping couples improve their marriages.
