A series of free-standing half-day workshops for couples

These three-four hour workshops are run by MRC’s trained presenters and include an opportunity for couples to reflect individually and share with their spouse. The workshops can be flexibly tailored to specific groups, such as engaged couples or newlyweds, or delivered to a general couple audience. Topics available include:

  1. Effective Strategies for Busy Couples
    A discussion of cultural attitudes in comparison to the vision of marriage offered by the Church together with simple, effective strategies that couples can adopt for immediate impact.
  2. Communicating for LIFE
    An interactive workshop that teaches couples MRC’s powerful LIFE communication framework. The workshop includes a 20 minute DVD presentation.
  3. A Total Gift of Self
    A presentation of Natural Fertility Methods and discussion of the relational and spiritual benefits for the couple. The workshop includes a 30 minute DVD presentation.
  4. Couple Decisions
    Using MRC’s powerful Values-Based Decision Making framework, couples will learn how to make couple decisions that draw them closer in unity.
  5. Mission to Love
    A motivational introduction to Matrimony as a vocation and sacrament including an empowering exercise to identify the unique charisms of each couple.
  6. Living in Love, with Love and through Love
    An introduction to the Theology of the Body and discussion of couple spirituality including simple suggestions for couples to develop a shared spirituality. Presented by Francine & Byron Pirola, this workshop can be previewed on DVD and mp3. Click here to order.

Duration: 2-3 hours

Audience: Can be flexibly tailored to your parish needs such as engaged couples, newlyweds, school parents or youth.

Format:  Presentation 1, couple reflection, refreshments, presentation 2, couple reflection, group discussion and/or prayer

Cost: $20 pp (min $300), plus travel costs for the presenter (plus provision of refreshments). Handouts are provided by MRC.
